SheTrades Global Hackathon

ITC SheTrades, the International Communications Union (ITU) and Dubai Industries and Exports invite you to apply to the SheTrades Global Hackathon for a Sustainable Future.

We are calling on the creatives, innovators and future thinkers around world to come together to take on the challenge of building a more sustainable and greener future.

Participants are invited to hack the challenge: How can women entrepreneurs leverage technology to accelerate the transition to an inclusive and green economy?

CRITERIA TO BE SELECTED
 

- Each team must have the participation of at least 1 woman (we encourage diversity through mixed teams of men, women and/or other gender identities)
 - Team members should have working proficiency in English
 - All team members must be located in the same country
 - One team member must be available to attend the on-site event in Dubai (17-19 October)– contingent on final selection*

*Cost of travel, visa, accommodation and on-site expenses will be paid by the participant.
 Applying teams must have members demonstrating the following skills:
   - Experience with mobile and web development
 - Experience with social-media APIs and web services
 - Understanding and knowledge of business culture
 - Understanding of challenges faced by women entrepreneurs
 - Knowledge of green economy
 Teams from the following countries are eligible to apply: Argentina, Egypt, Kenya, Morocco, Nigeria, Philippines, South Africa, Trinidad and Tobago, United Arab Emirates, Uruguay, Vietnam 

How will participants benefit?
   - Cash prize of $10,000
 - Recognition as the winner of the SheTrades Global Hackathon (press release, video interviews, social media etc.)
 - Engagement with ITC’s experts and technical team to integrate the solution on SheTrades online platform

- Certificate of participation (signed by ITC and ITU’s Executive Directors) awarded to all teams
 - Opportunity to contribute towards achieving Sustainable Development Goals

Programa Internacional en Comercio Sostenible

El Programa Internacional en Comercio Sostenible (PICS) ofrece a sus participantes un conjunto práctico de herramientas para identificar las tendencias y oportunidades en materia de sostenibilidad, así como la oportunidad de compartir enfoques prácticos para integrar la sostenibilidad en las cadenas de valor globales.

La participación en este programa es gratuita y los cupos son limitados. Si está interesado/a en asistir, por favor rellene el formulario de inscripción. El plazo de inscripción concluye el día 4 de octubre.

El curso está organizado por el Centro de Comercio Internacional (ITC) con el apoyo de La Secretaría de Estado para Asuntos Económicos – SECO; y cuenta con la participación como ponentes de diversas instituciones de alto prestigio, entre las que se incluyen: Ecobusiness Fund (Colombia), Universidad de Ciencias Aplicadas de Berna (Suiza), Impact Partners, Esencial Costa Rica (PROCOMER), Asociación de Exportadores del Perú (ADEX), Consultora Libélula (Perú), Consultora Etika (Bruselas) y otros reconocidos líderes en el área de sostenibilidad.

El curso se divide en cuatro módulos en línea,a partir del 13 de octubre hasta el 24 de noviembre. Usted puede revisar el contenido de cada módulo en la plataforma en línea NovoEd, a la que tendrá acceso durante el curso.

Octubre 14 al 27 | Módulo 1: La Sostenibilidad

Octubre 28 a noviembre 03 | Módulo 2: La sostenibilidad en las cadenas de valor: el rol de los estándares

Noviembre 04 al 10 | Módulo 3: Mercados Sostenibles: Tendencias y Oportunidades

Noviembre 11 al 17 | Módulo 4: Herramientas de Análisis de Mercados Sostenibles

Noviembre 18 al 24 | Módulo 5: Conclusiones, Entrega del trabajo final y Fin del curso
